Students and Teachers Decide on the Next Steps

So what do we do with all of these questions?
Most people would assume that once the student has produced questions and analyzed the rationale behind their questions, the job is complete. However, this is not the end. Questions serve to jump-start, improve, and accelerate the students’ learning, not to end it. This is the perfect opportunity to use the questions and move on to the next steps. The Question Formulation Technique (QFT) gives teachers the opportunity to see, hear, and think about the questions on students’ minds. It can drive instruction in ways that the teacher had not predicted, but will keep students engaged since it is coming from their very own interests.
