Teachers and Parents Design A Question Focus

For students to actively pursue and create their own questions, they first must to have a focus or a prompt.  Parents and teachers should consider these steps when trying to design a focus for student questioning.  What do you want to accomplish? List a variety of ideas to find an effective focus.  List the pros and cons of your focus idea.  Anticipate the types of questions students might formulate. Good questioning has the power to stimulate student learning and increase student participation.
