Fifth Grade Resources

The links below provide reading passages and questions (with answers keys) that will help your children work on their reading comprehension. Also provided are links to math websites that your children can go to at home to practice a particular skill.

studyjams.scholastic.com
This website includes step-by-step instructions and practice problems for both math and science concepts. The great part about the step-by-step instructions is that your children cannot move onto the next step until the character explaining the steps has finished speaking and has “shown” your child what to do. However, it is key to remember that the practice problems provided are not representative of the typical math test questions required of fifth grade students. These studyjams questions make sure the students know the concepts and math terms that they will be expected to use in application on tests.

aaamath.com
This website provides unlimited practice for many different math skills. However, again, the students will be expected to take these concepts to the application level on tests.

mrnussbaum.com
This website also provides many practice problems for different math concepts. However, some of the word problems on this website consist of only one step. On math tests, the students are going to have to use the math concepts to solve multi-step word problems.
